Onion Rings & Zesty Cocktail Dip
ONION RING INGREDIENTS:
- 1 large yellow onion, sliced into ½ in rings
- ¼ cup corn starch
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- 1, 12oz can beer
- Oil, for frying
DIPPING SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- ¼ cup Gold’s cocktail sauce
Preparation:
- In a large bowl, toss the onion with cornstarch to coat.
- In a medium bowl whisk the flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder and sea salt. Whisk in the beer until it is well combined. Let rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Add 1-2 inches of oil to a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Working in batches, dip the onion into the batter, and fry in the oil for 1-2 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a paper towel lined tray and season with salt.
- Meanwhile, combine the ketchup and cocktail sauce in a small bowl.
- Dip your onion rings in the sauce!
- Enjoy!
