Who said Cocktail Sauce is only for fish? Why not fry homemade onion rings...and add a little ketchup to our Extra Spicy Gold's Cocktail Sauce for a little zing?

Onion Rings & Zesty Cocktail Dip

ONION RING INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced into ½ in rings
  • ¼ cup corn starch
  • 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1, 12oz can beer
  • Oil, for frying

DIPPING SAUCE INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • ¼ cup Gold’s cocktail sauce

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, toss the onion with cornstarch to coat.
  2. In a medium bowl whisk the flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder and sea salt. Whisk in the beer until it is well combined. Let rest for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Add 1-2 inches of oil to a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Working in batches, dip the onion into the batter, and fry in the oil for 1-2 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer to a paper towel lined tray and season with salt.
  6. Meanwhile, combine the ketchup and cocktail sauce in a small bowl.
  7. Dip your onion rings in the sauce!
  8. Enjoy!
