Gold’s Horseradish Game Day Cheese Ball
Serves: 4-6
INGREDIENTS:
- 16 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons Gold’s Horseradish
- 4 tablespoons chives, chopped, divided
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ⅓ cup chopped pecans
- ⅓ cup shelled sunflower seeds
- Mozzarella cheese, to decorate
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a medium bowl, add the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Gold’s Horseradish, 1 tablespoon chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Use an electric mixer to whip until well combined.
- Add the remaining chives, pecans, and sunflower seeds to a small bowl.
- Lay a piece of plastic wrap on a clean kitchen counter.
- Use a silicone spatula to scrape down the bowl and collect the cheese ball in one clump. Generously grease your hands, and place the cheese in the center of the plastic wrap and form into a football shape with your hands.
- Press the pecan mixture into the sides and top of the cheeseball until it covers the entire “football”.
- Slice the mozzarella cheese into 3, 4-inch by ¼ inch rectangles to form the curved part of the football, and the center stitch. Slice 6-8 small rectangles and place on the cheese ball as stitching.
- Wrap with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 45 minutes.
- Bring it out of the fridge 20 minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite chips, crackers, or pretzels.
